Abstract Submission Deadline Has Passed
Thank you to the many researchers who contributed proposed abstracts by the 11 April 2011 deadline. We had a tremendous response and look forward to a great meeting. The SB5.0 organizing team is now reviewing these materials and will work to enable as many people as possible to share their work this June.
SB5.0 Young Researcher Travel Awards
The engagement of young students and researchers working to engineer biology, the future leaders of synthetic biology, is an important goal of the SB meetings. To this end, the Young Researcher Travel Awards Program was established by the BioBricks Foundation in 2008 to award partial travel fellowships to qualified students and postdoctoral fellows from around the award to attend the SB meetings. At SB4.0 in Hong Kong in 2008, the Program awarded more than $80,000 to support the participation of 125 young researchers from 18 countries.
At the upcoming SB5.0 meeting in 2011, recipients will be awarded partial funding to support travel to California, and their registration fees will also be waived.
