Transportation

Major Airports

Three major airports serve the San Francisco Bay Area. We suggest comparing fares to all three airports as there can be differences in fares, even for the same airline. Stanford University is approximately equidistant between the San Francisco Airport and the San Jose Airport.

The most convenient mode of transportation to and from the airport is by taxi or shuttle bus. You may also rent a car. Driving distance from SFO or SJC Airports to Stanford University is approximately 30-45 minutes depending on traffic.

South and East Bay Airport Shuttle:
From SFO: ~US$30.00 one-way (US$6.00 each additional person). From SJC: ~US$30.00 one-way (US$6.00 each additional person). Please call for pick-up locations. Reservations need to be made one day in advance. Reservations made online are discounted up to 50%. For fare and schedule updates, visit: www.southbayairportshuttle.com

Super Shuttle:
From SFO: ~US$27.00 one-way (US$9.00 each additional person). Operates 24 hours daily. Reservation required for return trip to the airport (3-stop max per shuttle trip). From SJC: ~US$26.00 one-way (US$9.00 each additional person). Call to arrange pick-up. For fare and schedule updates, visit: www.supershuttle.com
